Hidromod is currently installing its operational management system AQUASAFE in Leixões and Viana do Castelo ports, within project RAIA.
AQUASAFE allows the automation of data acquisition and statistic or numerical models running. Its application aims to assist navigation processes during harbour entrance, using the forecast capabilities of numerical models.
All data and results delivered by the numerical models, provided by RAIA project (www.observatorioraia.org) are available to force hydrodynamic and local wave propagation models, implemented by HIDROMOD.
The system is composed of a server application supported by a relational database (SQL2008/2005 ou postgresSQL). This system component is responsible for all automated processes, from data acquisition to the automatic reports production and numerical models implementation.
This application provides a series of web services which allow client creation. In the case of RAIA project, this application comes with a desktop interface that allows its interaction with the application.
The desktop application may be installed through "click-once", providing a computer with .Net framework 4 available, as well as an OpenGL compatible graphics card, for map display. The application allows the creation of workspaces, as well as assigning areas to different users (users with adequate permission may create their own workspaces).
