Hidromod participation in the forum of Eco Innovation

In the Framework of the 13th European Forum on Eco-Innovation HIDROMOD presented its experience in developing new markets for Eco-Innovation using as na exemple AQUASAFE platform. This case was selected by the forum organization as a relevant example in what concerns the innovation in water management and it was used as a basis for the discussion of the main barriers and opportunities in research, development and the market penetration of new eco-innovation solutions.



Global Honour Award from IWA to the AQUASAFE - Smart management tool Implementation to wastewater system of Simtejo

On the 15th of August 2012 the International Water Association announced the 2012 IWA Project Innovation Awards Global winners. One of the winners, with an Honour Award was: "AQUASAFE - Smart management tool Implementation to wastewater system of Simtejo" from HIDROMOD, LDA and SIMTEJO, SA In the category Operations/Management.



HIDROMOD selected as winner of the International tender to implement an operational oill spill forecast system for the Malacca Strait

HIDROMOD was selected by IMO (International Maritime Organization) to install an operational oil spill forecast system for the Strait of Malacca. This work will be done in the framework of the Marine Electronic Highway (MEH) demonstration project promoted by IMO and participated by Indonesia, Malasya and Singapore in the framework of which a more broad navigation improvement system is being implemented.

AQUASAFE  is the Honour Award for the Operations & Management Category of the 2012 IWA Europe & West Asia Regional Project Innovation Awards.

FP7 FIGARO Project select for funding

HIDROMOD, together with 16 partners, submitted FP7 FIGARO (Flexible and PrecIse IrriGation PlAtform to Improve FaRm Scale Water PrOductivity) proposal which was selected for funding.



AquaSafe was considered one of the top meaningful projects in 2011

AquaSafe was considered one of the top meaningful projects in the 2011 Bentley Be Inspired Awards. The project was considered highly relevant among a short list of 5 projects also refered in the same context.

Opening of a business representation in Spain

HIDROMOD reached an agreement with AQUAGEO to establish a permanent representation in Spain.



Alentejo Hydrographic Basins Management Plan

Public discussion of the Alentejo Hydrographic Basins management plan will begin shortly. Hidromod has participated in these plans with the application of several modeling methodologies. Several applications of models MOHID, SWAT and CEQUALW2 were performed.



Aquasafe in Leixões and Viana do Castelo ports

Hidromod is currently installing its operational management system AQUASAFE in Leixões and Viana do Castelo ports, within project RAIA.

PNAND

HIDROMOD is part of a consortium, along with GMV and CONSULMAR, which will develop the basis of a National Aiding Plan for Ships in Distress (PNAND). This plan, responsability of IPTM, aims to develop and update accommodation plans for ships in distress. These plans will help institutions to decide whether or not a ship in distress should be granted access in a specified location, along with necessary provisions and procedures, taking into account the operational, security and environmental restrictions.



MYWATER

HIDROMOD is part of a consortium which has begun the development of a R&D project in January 2011, funded by the 7th FP program. The project, named MYWATER, gathers a consortium of 9 institutions from 7 countries (Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil, Hungary, Greece and Mozambique), with a budget of around 3 million euros.

The project goals are focused on obtaining reliable information about water quantity, quality and use, which may be relevant for Hydric resources management. For this purpose, these objectives will be met through effort gathering in the fields of earth observation (satellite), meteorology and watershed modelling. Data will be integrated into a platform which will provide a range of services to allow personalised access from users, accordingly to their needs.
