GIBDQA – Centralized sampling data management

GIBDQA is a specific AQUASAFE tool designed to manage data from monitoring campaigns, which have to be promoted by water distribution companies.

These companies have to manage, on a daily basis, a considerable amount of laboratory samples information from several control checkpoints, within several monotoring plans, with such a diversity of analysis and data complexity taht it is virtually impossible to manage. Involving several legal scheduling requisites, irregular samples management, operator availability and result information to several entities (ERSAR, City Halls, etc.), these plans' operation requires in a fact a considerable effort.

Aiming to reduce the cost (in hours) of these operations, a platform was developed, within AQUASAFE project, to allow an efficient management of all this information.

This platform named GIBDQA (Water Quality Integrated Database Management), is a software tool that allows the management of the different plan management phases, namely:

  • Campaign scheduling;
  • ImporSample data import and corresponding digital bulletins;
  • Automatic validation of imported data (unconformities, lacking scheduled samples, etc.);
  • Quick search of data from several plans and sampling locations, allowing cross-referencing of several descriptors;
  • GIS interface of the sample locations and corresponding associated parameters (bulletins, unconformities, values, etc);
  • Complex report creation ability in Microsoft Office format (annual and trimester reports) and reporting to ERSAR.

This tool represents a significant costs saving in maitenance sampling plans. A clear example of this is the creation of trimester reports to City Halls. This type of report implies cross-referencing of data scattered along several databases. AQUASAFE platform allows performing this operation instantaneously.
